I have lived in upstate New York all of my life. I am aware that
the community where I have lived has helped shape me into the individual
that I am today. I believe that the long desire to become a teacher
has been influenced by family members and academic tutors and who
have been an inspiration for me.
For the past two years I have worked at the YWCA day care center
in Fairmount. I began this job with an excitement and a desire to
work with young children and help shape their lives. I worked with
children of different ages and abilities at the center. I especially
enjoyed working with the infants. Because of having younger siblings
in my life, I have a special place in my heart for taking care of
infants.
Because I developed a strong work ethic, I have been able to succeed
in school. I have learning difficulties that were caused by a medical
condition. Because of this I have had to work extra hard to accomplish
my goals.
